  • Press on the menu icon and select ‘settings.’ Press on the button labeled ‘off’ to turn off the Wi-Fi.

 

2) Switch off timing for data fetching

Some of the data that are updated on a regular basis are RSS feed as well as email notifications. These updates can drain the battery of your iPad. Therefore, you need to switch of this setting. To do so, follow the instructions below:

  • Press on ‘settings’. In the new page press ‘mail, contacts, calendars.’ Thereafter, press on ‘fetch new data.’ In the new page, press ‘manually.’ On the other hand, you can opt to press on ‘hourly’ in order to escalate the fetching interval.

 

3) Switch off push notifications

The practicality of this stage hinges on the number of e-mails plus IM+ notifications that one gets. In case you receive a lot of notifications, this step will be worth looking at as push notifications are known to drain the battery life of an iPad. To switch off push notifications, follow the steps below:

  • Press on ‘settings’ and tap on ‘mail, contacts, calendars’. Tap on ‘turn off push’ in the ‘fetch ne data’ dialog box.

 

4) Minimize brightness

Your iPad uses more battery power if the screen is brighter. Hence, if you have configured the brightness of the screen to maximum, you iPad will use more battery power. To prolong the battery life, you need to set the brightness to a level that seems normal in a dark or bright room. The following are instructions on turning down the brightness on your iPad screen:

  • Press on ‘settings’ and tap on ‘brightness and wallpaper.’
  • Choose ‘auto brightness.’ This enables the iPad to automatically regulate the brightness of the screen hinging on the brightness of the room you are in.
  • Tug the slider towards the left to minimize the brightness of the screen. Normal brightness for an iPad screen on a sunny day is 30%. The same should also be sufficient for persons who use their iPads at night.
