Things To Share Using Your iPad

Share your pictures on the big screen

We all know the iPad, particularly the new iPad with its retina technology, has an amazing screen but it’s never going to be bigger than 9.5” by 7.3”. Luckily it’s simple to hook it up to a PC, Mac or television screen via an hdmi cable.

This is very straightforward to do and it no longer means your relatives will need to press their grubby fingers to your precious iPad screen when you want to show them videos of your dog’s latest hilarious tricks.

Share your adventures

You’re off on the African safari of a lifetime but you can’t take all of your friends and family with you. That doesn’t mean they can’t follow you every step of the way. Apps such as trackmytour enable you to upload your location, create a map of your travels and post comments and photos as you go, all from your iPad.

Everyone will know that you’re safe, having a great time and, as a bonus, you’ll end up with a great way of reliving all those giraffe encounters when the time comes to head home.

Share your plans

Sharing a calendar from your iPad is easy. While you might not want everybody to know your day-to-day plans, if you run a club or society, it can be a useful way of making sure everyone knows what’s happening.

Built-in iCalendar is great for this and all you’ll have to do is click the share calendar privately button on your mail calendar display and then enter the email addresses of those you wish to share it with. As long as they too have iCalendar, they will be kept in the loop.

Share your location

Meeting someone in an unfamiliar bar and you’re not exactly sure where you are and how to get them there too? Apps such as Moby Simple Location Sharing on iPad allow you to send a quick message to your friend that will continue to show them your position on a map for a specified length of time until they successfully find you and share a drink.

They don’t have to have the app installed on their device and only those you have sent the link to will know where you are.

Share your sounds

Want everyone to know what great new sounds you’re listening to? Then why not share your music with friends and family through Music Friends, a social media site focused on tunes.

Not only can you immediately alert your friends to great new tracks, you can compile playlists and see what they’ve been listening to and download anything that catches your ear.
